Sunday August 31, 2014—The Battle of Caulk’s Field Bicentennial Re-Enactment is taking place on the original battlefield site which is currently used for growing crops. As such, there are certain things you need to be aware of to have an enjoyable and safe experience at our event.
EVENT SURFACE: The event is taking place in a harvested field with uneven terrain. Please keep this in mind when navigating with a stroller or wheelchair. Please wear appropriate footwear and watch your step! There is a lot of ground to cover and a lot of walking.
PARKING & ACCESS: Event parking is in a harvested field with uneven terrain. From the parking area it will be necessary to walk approximately ¼ mile through a harvested field with uneven terrain. We advise the use of both sunscreen and bug spray. There will be a designated Handicapped Parking area. Limited handicapped shuttle service is available.
RE-ENACTMENT: The actual Re-Enactment will last approximately 45 minutes. There is no seating available and the viewing area is on an open field with no shade area. Participation in the Re-Enactment is limited to pre-registered re-enactors.
BAG CHAIRS: The re-enactment of the Battle of Caulk’s Field will last approximately 45 minutes. You are welcome to bring your own bag chairs for seating. (Please no umbrellas, so that everyone may have a view.)
FOOD AND BEVERAGES: A variety of foods and beverages will be available from vendors. There is a large tent in which you can eat. Please, no coolers or outside food.
FACILITIES: Porta pots and hand washing sinks will be located at the parking and event areas. There are no other facilities available.
ATMs: No ATMs are available onsite. The closest ATM is more than five miles away. You will want to have sufficient cash with you for your food and merchandise purchases.
CAMERAS AND RECORDING DEVICES are allowed onsite.
LOST AND FOUND: Items that are lost or misplaced at Caulk's Field should be brought to the Greeting Tent during the event. Items that are turned in to Lost and Found can be claimed at the Greeting Tent (during the event) or by calling 410-778-0416 (after the event.)
EMERGENCIES: The Kent County Department of Emergency Services will be on site at the event. Information booths will be located throughout the event.

NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES (including gators, ATVs, golf carts, etc.)
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE TERRAIN, we strongly advise extreme caution in the use of personal motorized handicapped transport.
DIRECTIONS: Once you have arrived in Chestertown, take High Street/Route 20 toward Rock Hall for 7.8 miles. Turn right onto Route 21 - Tolchester Beach Road. Travel 6/10 miles. Caulk's Field is on your right. To park, bear left with the road and follow the parking signage.
