SPRING FIELD TRIP SCHEDULE – JANUARY-JUNE 2008
January 5 – (SATURDAY) - Field Trip, 8:00 AM. Kick off your birding year with a half-day at Eastern Neck NWR for waterfowl and winter land birds.
January 26 – (SATURDAY) – Field Trip, 8:00 AM. Ocean City, Worcester County. Winter specialties include gannet, sea ducks, alcids, gulls, Purple Sandpipers, and wintering passerines. Full day. Dress warmly, bring lunch and warm beverages.
February 10 – (SUNDAY) – Field Trip: Winter Count. Full day. Join the field crew or count in your neighborhood, anywhere in Kent County. Contact one of the leaders for more information.
March 2 – (SUNDAY) – Field Trip, 8:00 AM. Blackwater NWR, Dorchester County. Prime wintering waterfowl and eagle country. Full day. Bring lunch
March 15 – (SATURDAY) – Field Trip, 8:00 AM. Prime Hook NWR, DE. Early spring birding for waterfowl, raptors, sparrows and the occasional surprise. Full day. Bring lunch.
March 29 - (SATURDAY) – Field Trip: Owl Prowl. Meet at the Eastern Neck NWR Lodge at 7:00 PM. This field trip will hopefully bring us face to face with an owl or two after an introduction to local species and their calls.
April 19 – (SATURDAY) – Field Trip, 9:00 AM. Beginner’s Bird Walk. An Earth Day walk geared toward beginning birders, but all are welcome. Meet at Eastern Neck NWR Headquarters. 2 to 2 ½ hours.
April 27 – (SUNDAY) – Field Trip, 8:00 AM. Bombay Hook NWR, DE. .
May 10 – (SATURDAY) – Field Trip: May Count. An all-day effort to census all birds in Kent County. Join a field party or count in your neighborhood. Contact one of the leaders for details.
May 17 – (SATURDAY) – Field Trip, 8:00 AM. Heron Point. Meet in the main parking lot for a leisurely walk along the Chester River waterfront and wooded edges around the Heron Point community. 2 hours.
WINTER-SPRING 2008 MEETING DATES
Meetings are held at 7:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each
month in Wesley Hall at Heron Point, off East Campus Avenue,
Chestertown. Light refreshments follow the program.

June 8 – (SUNDAY) – Annual Club Picnic, 5:00 pm. Join us for a potluck picnic at the Lodge at Eastern Neck NWR
