
A special telephone line has been established and will be operating Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The telephone number is 778-4444. Local police will provide Crime Solvers with a 'Kent's Most Wanted' list and information on unsolved crimes in the area. This information will be published In the local news media. Crime Solvers will pay up to $1000 in cash rewards for information which leads to an arrest or apprehension of wanted persons. The Crime Solvers program is set up to assure anonymity to citizens who call.
The purpose of Crime Solvers is to assist local law enforcement agencies in obtaining information about felony crimes, wanted persons and other criminal activity; assist in developing a community offensive against criminal activity and heighten public awareness of the impact of crime; motivate members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and provide for awards and rewards for cooperation in solving open crimes. The group has been approved for 501(c)(3) which will make all individual contributions and donations deductible from federal income tax as charitable contributions.
