PUBLIC HEARING - November 19, 2013

PROPOSED REVISIONS TO SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN

A public hearing was held today at 6:38 p.m. in the County Commissioners’ Hearing Room, County Government Center, 400 High Street, Chestertown, MD, for the purpose of discussing the proposed revisions to the Kent County Solid Waste Management Plan. The purpose of the hearing is to review the draft Solid Waste Management Plan: This 10-year plan is required pursuant to the Code of Maryland Regulations Title 26, Subtitle 03, Chapter 03 entitled, “Development of County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan.”

County Commissioners, Ronald Fithian, William Pickrum, and William Short were in attendance as well as Ernest Crofoot, County Administrator and Marty Holden, Division Chief, Recycling and Solid Waste.

Commissioner Fithian invited comments and questions from the audience. No one present requested to comment or ask questions.

On motion by Commissioner Pickrum and seconded by Commissioner Short, the Commissioners unanimously adopted the proposed revisions, as submitted, to the Solid Waste Management Plan. The plan will be forwarded to the Maryland Department of the Environment for final approval.

The hearing was taped for reference and the Commissioners adjourned the public hearing at 6:40 p.m.
