PUBLIC HEARING
CODE HOME RULE 6-2013 ~ QUALIFICATIONS FOR
BUSINESS PROPERTY TAX CREDIT

December 3, 2013

A public hearing was held today at 6:12 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room, R. Clayton Mitchell Jr., County Government Center, Chestertown, Maryland, for CHR 6-2013, which is AN ACT to amend Chapter 152, Article VI, Tax Credits for Businesses That Create New Jobs, § 152-23(A) (2), Qualifications for Credit, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County, Maryland.

County Commissioners, Ronald Fithian, William Pickrum, and William Short were in attendance as well as Ernest Crofoot, County Administrator.

Commissioner Fithian read the public notice into the record. Mr. Crofoot at the request of Commissioner Fithian explained State enabling legislation, which allows smaller counties to reduce the number of new job requirements from 25 to 10 full time employees for businesses to quality for the business tax credit.

Commissioner Fithian invited comments and questions from the audience, no one from the audience commented.

Written comments will be accepted in the Commissioners’ Office until Friday, December 13, 2013 at 12:00 p.m.

A motion was made by Commissioner Pickrum, seconded by Commissioner Short and carried unanimously to adjourn the public hearing.

The hearing was taped for reference and the Commissioners adjourned the public hearing at 6:15 p.m.
