Warm earthy clay takes on various guises beneath colorful, rich glazes and the hands of our students and instructors from Artworks' Clay Studio at The Arts at Still Pond Station. From vessels thrown on wheels to hand built forms, mosaics, and more, September's show is all about clay.

Passengers are encouraged to help raise the sails, steer using Sultana's seven-foot long tiller and explore the authentically reproduced crew's quarters below-decks.
$30 Adult /$15 under 12, no children under 5.
Join Sultana Projects' staff naturalists for one (or more!) of eight unique kayak paddles on Maryland's Upper Eastern Shore. Kayaks for these trips are provided so all you need to bring is water, a snack, and your binoculars!

Come down to Eastern Neck NWR to get outside and make a difference! Friends of Eastern Neck and the Center for Environment & Society of Washington College are sponsoring a shoreline cleanup. Meet at the Refuge Office/Visitor Contact Station. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for weather. Bags, gloves, sunscreen, snacks & water are provided.
An old fashion Camp Meeting and Prayer-Band Service. Singing & Prayer Meeting Bands of several churches in the Delmarva and Baltimore regions will be featured. Dinners,sandwiches, desserts, beverages, etc. will be on sale starting at 1pm. Guest Preacher Rev. Darius K. Butler will speak at 3pm and at 3:45pm the music will begin.

Art's Alive at RiverArts

Gala fundraiser to celebrate the union of Chestertown Arts League and ArtWorks - now to be known as RiverArts. It will be a night of food, fun, music and community building with silent auctions and appreciation of art, crafts and living masterpieces.
Join us for our first Crabs for Character crab feast fundraiser! All you can eat crabs, burgers, hotdogs and non-alcoholic drinks. Adults $25, Youth (6-10) $10, 5 and under eat free Character Counts! Kent County supports elementary, middle and high school students in Kent County with weekly lessons delivered by over 100 community volunteers.
Gospel Brunch with 100 voice choir opens up the event at 11am. Followed by three local Jazz bands. Afternoon acts include Felicia Carter, Project Natale and International Acts, Giacomo Gates and Frederic Yonnet. Food and drink vendors all day.
There will be an admission fee.

One of the better kept secrets of the county is this school house, the last Kent County one-room school to remain in its original configuration. It served the farming and watermenís communities from 1878 to1939. It is the restoration and preservation project of the Port of Chester Questers based in Chestertown. The schoolhouse is graced with artifacts, including the lessons for grades 1 through 7 for the last day of the school that remain on the blackboard.

Barry McGovern is an Irish actor who has had a long career in theater, film, TV and radio. He is regarded by many as one of the leading exponents of the work of Samuel Beckett. His one-man Beckett show, I'll Go On, produced by Dublin's Gate Theatre, has played worldwide.

Port of Chester Questers hosts this event to benefit preservation of Cliffs Schoolhouse Chestertown. Appraisers Aurelia Bolton (Sothebys) and Raab Christhilf ( Alex Cooper Auctioneers) will evaluate and discuss each item presented. Collectibles as well as antiques are welcome. There are two sessions: 10 am to noon and 2pm to 4pm. Admission is $20 and includes one appraisal. One other item may also be appraised for an additional $20. Appraisals will be limited to 35 per session.
