This Commission was created under Code Home Rule Bill #2-83. $30.00 per meeting to be paid to the Chairman, and $25.00 per meeting paid to members.

The County Commissioners of Kent County shall establish a County Ethics Commission, which shall be composed of five members appointed by the said County Commissioners. The initial appointment shall be for two members for one year, two members for two years, and one member for three years. Thereafter, all appointments shall be for three years. The members so appointed may be removed by the County commissioners for cause, and the members shall not be entitled to compensation, but shall be entitled to reimbursement for reasonable expenses.

A. The County Commissioners of Kent County shall establish a County Ethics Commission, which shall be composed of five (5) members appointed by said County Commissioners. The initial appointment shall be for two (2) members for one (1) year, two (2) members for two (2) years and one (1) member for three (3) years. Thereafter, all appointments shall be for three (3) years.

B. The members so appointed may be removed by the County Commissioners for cause, and the members shall not be entitled to compensation, but shall be entitled to reimbursement for reasonable expenses.

C. The Commission's files and records shall be maintained by the Clerk to the County Commissioners.

D. The Commission shall be advised by the County Attorney or such other attorney as the County Commissioners may appoint and shall have the following responsibilities:

1. To devise, receive and maintain all forms generated by this chapter.

2. To provide written advisory opinions as to the applicability of the provisions of this chapter to any person, board or commission subject to this chapter.

3. To process and make determinations as to complaints filed by any person alleging violations of this chapter and make recommendations to the County Commissioners concerning this chapter or matters arising out of this chapter.

4. To conduct a public information program regarding the purposes and application of this chapter.

5. Upon request of the County Commissioners, to submit a written report of any and all action taken by the Commission under this chapter for the period requested.
