KENT COUNTY, MARYLAND
Board of License Commissioners
Ocotber 15, 2002
The Honorable Board of County Commissioners met today with the following present: Larry B. Beck, and Ronald H. Fithian, presiding. W. Michael Newnam, was not in attendance due to a commitment with his employer, Verizon.
Mauritz Stetson, Alcoholic Beverage Inspector, appeared to discuss the following issues:
Mr. Stetson reported on two violations to Criminal Law Article, Section 10.113 of the Annotated Code of Maryland as it relates to the misrepresentation of age by a minor to induce the sale of an alcoholic beverage. The violations occurred at Suds-N-Soda and the licensee reported both allegations. The cases were closed by the issuance of a citation.
ROCK HALL INN
Mr. Stetson advised that the Rock Hall Inn does not appear to be meeting requirements of Article 2B Section 6 -201 (p) 3 (iii) in meeting the 60% - 40% ratio of food sales to alcohol sales and recommended the figures be reviewed by the Board at the end of October to determine if a downgrade of the license will be required.
The following one day only license was approved as follows:
A Class C Beer and Wine License for the Chestertown Wildlife Exhibition and Sale for a patron's party to be held at the Chestertown Fire Hall,
A Class C Beer License for the Chestertown Optimist Club for a fund raiser at the Wildlife Exhibition to be held at Memorial Plaza, downtown Chestertown.
There being no further business to claim their attention, the Board adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, October 22, 2002.
