A Buffer Management Plan or Forest Clearing Plan is required before a property owner can clear or trim vegetation in the Critical Area. The forms can be downloaded below as .pdf documents and faxed or mailed to the Planning Department. Because removal of vegetation requires mitigation, a list of Maryland native species has been included for your information.
Buffer Management Plan - for use when undertaking work in the Buffer (minimum of 100 feet from mean high tide, can be expanded for slopes, hydric soils, or highly erodible soils)
Forest Clearing Plan - for use when undertaking work outside the Buffer
