CURBSIDE RECYCLING NOTICE

Effective June 26, 2010, the Kent County Recycling Program will no longer be collecting curbside recyclables from residents and businesses in Kent County.

As a member of the Mid-shore Regional Recycling Program (MRRP), Kent County will join Queen Anne’s, Caroline and Talbot counties in the Igloo Program and allow MRRP to place igloos at the following locations:

Duck Puddle Drop-off Center (Galena)
Sharptown Drop-off Center (Rock Hall)
Old Parks & Recreation building parking lot (Rt. 297 in Worton)

These igloo sites will be in place and operational by June 25, 2010.

Igloos are already in place and available for use at the Nicholson Drop-off Center, off Earl Nicholson Road, Chestertown and on Fey Road in Kingstown.

Cardboard will only be accepted at the Duck Puddle, Sharptown and Nicholson Drop-off Centers.  All igloo sites will accept newspaper, catalogs, phone books, junk mail, envelopes w/ windows, mixed paper, paper board such as cereal boxes, shoe boxes, toilet paper & paper towel tubes, narrow neck plastic bottles and jugs, mixed tin & aluminum cans, clear, brown and green glass.

Please feel free to retain your recycling bin and use it to deliver recyclables to the drop-off center.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Kent County Public Works Department at 410-778-2600.  Thank you for recycling!
