Edesville

Edesville Wastewater Treatment Lagoon - The two cell lagoon treats the wastewater collected from Edesville and Edesville East subdivision and discharges to a ridge and furrow land application plot. The plant has a design capacity of 21,000 gallons per day. Our current average daily flow is approximately 8,000 gallons per day.

Edesville Water Treatment Plant - The plant is feed by a 30 gallon per minute well with a chemical and mechanical treatment process for iron removal and pH adjustment with a 30,000 gallon ground storage tank. The system pressure is maintained through a serious of Hydro Pneumatic tanks located inside the plant. General Information

a. there are currently 97 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units
( E.D.U.) served in the Edesville service area, 85 residential, 1 commercial, and 1 vacant.

b. the water and sewer allocation fees, for new hookups are: $3,060 for water $3,360 for sewer

c. the current water and sewer user rates, as of 7-01-2004, are:
Residential/Commercial - $124.25 per quarter for up to 12,000 gallon of water usage any overage would be charged at $0.98 per 1,000 gallons.

Fairlee

Fairlee Water Treatment Plant - The plant is alternately fed by one (1) of two (2) 250 gallon per minute wells with a chemical and mechanical treatment process for very high concentration of iron and pH adjustment. The plant provides domestic and fire suppression services to the village of Fairlee and Georgetown with two (2) 100,000 gallon elevated storage tanks, one located at the Water Treatment Plant in Fairlee and the other located on Georgetown Road.

Kennedyville

6) Kennedyville Wastewater Treatment Lagoon - The two cell lagoon treats the wastewater collected from Kennedyville and discharges to an unnamed stream. The plant has a design capacity of 30,000 gallons per day. Our current average daily flow is approximately 20,000 gallons per day.

7) Kennedyville Water Treatment Plant - The plant is alternately fed by one (1) of two (2) 110 gallon per minute wells with a chemical and mechanical treatment process for iron removal. The plant provides domestic and fire suppression services to the village of Kennedyville from a 75,000 gallon elevated storage tank.

General Information
a. There are currently 106 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units (E.D.U.) served in the Kennedyville water and sewer service area, 90 residential users, 15 commercial and 1 vacant properties.
b. the water and sewer allocation fees are: $3,060 for water $3,060 for sewer
c. the current water and sewer user rates for Kennedyville, as of 7-01-2004 are: Residential - $181.83 per quarter for up to 12,000 gallons of water usage any overage would be charged at $2.42 per 1000 gallons. Vacant - $90.91 per quarter

Millington

Millington - Similar to Spring Cove/ Green Lane there are two areas adjacent to the town boundaries of Millington that are not part of the incorporated town that are served with public sewer service and maintained by the Water & Waste Water Department. The small subdivision know as Sandfield is served by a gravity system that empties to a pumping station located at the end of West Street then pumps the wastewater to the towns treatment plant for treatment and final disposal by discharging to the head of the Chester River. The other area served is west of town along Rt. 291. Only a few homes are currently served along this corridor including Howard Johnson's restaurant. As with the Sandfield system the wastewater from all the homes along Rt. 291, that are served, is collected via a gravity system, with the exception of Howard Johnson's which is pumped, to a pump station located at the towns boundary and then pumped to the treatment plant for ultimate disposal.

General Information
a. there are currently 136 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units (E.D.U.) served in the Millington sewer service area. 105 residential users, 20 commercial and 11 vacant properties.
b. the sewer allocation fees are: $3,060 for sewer ( any new allocations would first need to be approved by the town.)
c. the current sewer rates for Millington area, as of 7-01-2004 are:
Residential/Commercial - $119.86 per quarter
Vacant - $59.94 per quarter

Piney Neck

Wesley Chapel Pumping Station - This is one of three pumping stations located in the Wesley Chapel/Skinners Neck/Piney Neck Service area. The domestic wastewater is collected through a grinder pump located on each individuals property then pumped to one of the three pumping stations. All the collected wastewater ultimately ends up at the Wesley Chapel Pumping Station and is then pumped to the Rock Hall Wastewater Treatment Plant for treatment and final discharge to Grays Inn Creek.

General Information

a. there are currently 409 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units (E.D.U.) served in the Piney Neck sewer service area, 387 residential users, 11 commercial and 11 vacant properties.

b. the sewer allocation fees are:
$3,060 for sewer

c. the current sewer user rates for Piney Neck area, as of 7-01-2004 are:
Residential & Commercial - $116.33 per quarter
Vacant - $56.18 per quarter

Quaker Neck

Quaker Neck Pumping Station - This is the main pumping station located at the intersection of Rt. 289 and John Hanson Road which collects the domestic sewerage flow from a gravity collection system along Rt. 289. There is a second pumping station located just north of the intersection of Wilkins Lane and Rt. 289. Ultimately the wastewater is pumped to the Chestertown Lagoon located off of John Hanson Road for final treatment and disposal to the Chester River.

General Information

a. there are currently 213 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units (E.D.U.) served in the Quaker Neck sewer service area, 184 residential users, 5 commercial and 24 vacant properties.

b. the sewer allocation fees are:
$3,060 for sewer

c. the current sewer user rates for Quaker Neck area, as of 7-01-2004 are:
Residential & Commercial - $96.64 per quarter
Vacant - $48.33 per quarter

Rudnick & Little Neck

Rudnick and Little Neck Subdivisions - these two subdivisions are serviced by a "Shared Facility" that was installed by a developer and turned over to the Water & Waste Water Department for operations and maintenance. The Rudnick Subdivision provides service to nine (9) lots outside the town boundaries of Galena located at the junction of Rt. 313, Rt. 290, and Irelands Corner Roads. There are no additional allocations available once the nine lots are built out. The Little Neck Subdivision provides service to a 17 lot subdivision located on Burris Road in Little Neck Farm. Like Rudnick, no additional building can occur when the 17 lots are built out.

General Information

a. there are currently 9 lots in Rudnick and 17 lots in Little Neck

b. there are no sewer allocation fees (no further building can occur)

c. the current user rates for both areas, as of 7-01-2004 are:
Residential - $96.64 per quarter
Vacant - $48.33 per quarter

Spring Cove / Green Lane

Spring Cove / Green Lane - These two areas are adjacent to the town boundary of Rock Hall, Spring Cove on the north side and Green Lane on the south side. Both of these areas are served by a Grinder Pump system which collects the wastewater and pumps it to the town's Wastewater Treatment Plant, similar to the Piney Neck area, for final treatment and discharge to Grays Inn Creek.

General Information

a. there are currently 90 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units (E.D.U.) served in the Spring Cove/Green Lane sewer service area.

b. the sewer allocation fees are:
$3,060 for sewer

c. the grinder pump cost ranges from $3,100 to $3,500 ( depending on the installation.) This cost excludes installation costs as they vary depending on the contractor and site conditions.

d. the current sewer user rates for SC/GL area, as of 7-01-2004 are:
Residential - $116.33 per quarter
Small Business - $58.17 per quarter
Vacant - 58.16

Tolchester

Tolchester Wastewater Treatment Plant - The plant was constructed in 1996 to treat the wastewater collected from Tolchester and Fairlee/Georgetown service areas. The plant has a design capacity of 265,000 gallons per day. Our current average daily flow is approximately 80,000 gallons per day. The plant also has the ability to physically and mechanically remove phosphorus and nitrogen, if the State ever requires these parameters in our discharge permit. The plant effluent is disinfected by Ultraviolet light prior to discharging to the Chesapeake Bay, through an 8 inch line from the plant to approximately 1,100 feet from the shoreline off the end of Ohio Avenue in Tolchester.

General Information

a. there are currently 354 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units (E.D.U.) served in the Fairlee/Georgetown water and sewer service area, 303 residential users, 16 commercial and 35 vacant properties.

b. there are currently 276 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units (E.D.U.) served in the Tolchester sewer service area, 213 residential, 46 commercial, and 17 vacant.

c. the water and sewer allocation fees are:
$3,060 for water ( Fairlee/Georgetown Only)
$3,060 for sewer ( Both Tolchester and Fairlee/Georgetown)

d. the current water and sewer user rates for Fairlee, as of 7-01-2004 are:
Residential/Commercial - $191.72 per quarter for up to 12,000 gallons of water usageany overage would be charged at $2.42 per 1000 gallons.
Vacant - $95.87

e. the current sewer user rate for Tolchester, as of 7-01-2004 is:
Residential - $116.33 per quarter
Commercial - $116.33 per quarter
Vacant - 58.16

Tolchester Pumping Station - This is the main pumping station which collects the domestic wastewater via a grinder pump system from the Tolchester service area and from the Delta Heights Pumping station and pumps it to the Tolchester Wastewater Treatment plant for final treatment and disposal.

Worton

8) Worton Water Treatment Plant - The plant is feed by four (4) 30 gallon per minute wells with chemical and mechanical treatment processes for iron removal. The plant provides domestic and fire suppression services to the villages of Worton and Butlertown, as well as the Kent County High and Worton Elementary Schools from a 125,000 gallon elevated storage tank.

9) Worton Wastewater Treatment Lagoon and Septage Receiving Unit - The three cell lagoon treats the wastewater collected from the Worton area and discharges to an unnamed stream. The first cell is used to collect and treat the septage collected throughout the county from individual homes. The effluent joins with the wastewater from the town of Worton for further treatment as the serpentine flow travels through the other three cells.

General Information

a. there are currently 395 users/Equivalent Dwelling Units (E.D.U.) served in the Worton water and sewer service area, 289 residential users, 60 commercial and 46 vacant properties.

b. the water and sewer allocation fees are:
$3,060 for water
$3,060 for sewer

c. the current water and sewer user rates for Worton, as of 7-01-2004 are:
Residential & Commercial - $151.69 per quarter for up to 12,000 gallons of water usage and any overage would be charged at $2.42 per 1000 gallons.
Vacant Lot - $75.85 per quarter

d. Septage Haulers are charged $0.07 per gallon to dump, unless they are dumping a load from a Health Department approved holding tank then they are only charged $0.03 per gallon.
