PUBLIC HEARING - March 31, 2015

CHR 2-2015 Boats and Boating

A public hearing was held today at 6:13 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room, R. Clayton Mitchell Jr., County Government Center, Chestertown, Maryland, for Code Home Rule Bill No. 2-2015 Boats and Boating, which is AN ACT to amend Chapter 68 - Boats and Boating, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County, Maryland. The purpose of the amendment to this chapter is to:

o Public Landings: Amend the amount of time vessels are permitted to dock at a Kent County public landing with transient slips.

o Mooring Application Requirements: Add GPS coordinates for all registered moorings

o Mooring Requirements: Amend the time period that vessels are required to be removed from mooring buoys during designated waterfowl hunting seasons.

County Commissioners, Ronald Fithian and William Short were in attendance. Ernest A. Crofoot, County Administrator and County Attorney, and Marty Holden, Deputy Director, Public Landings, were also in attendance.

Commissioner Short read the public notice into the record.

Commissioner Short invited comments and questions from the audience and there were no comments or questions.

Written comments will be accepted in the Commissioners’ office until Monday, April 6, 2015, at 12:00 p.m.

A motion was made by Commissioner Fithian, seconded by Commissioner Short to adjourn the public hearing by majority.

The hearing was taped for reference and the Commissioners adjourned the public hearing at 6:14 p.m.
