Figg's Ordinary is an entirely gluten-free cafe located in beautiful downtown Chestertown, Maryland. In our dedicated gluten-free facility, we use alternatives to wheat flour such as almond, buckwheat, coconut, millet, oat, and sorghum flours. We also offer a variety of dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, and vegan products for our customers with other dietary restrictions. We are committed to promoting health and education in our community, and as such we choose to use sweeteners with a lower glycemic index, such as coconut sugar, Maryland-produced maple syrup, and local honey, rather than traditional refined sugar.
We are dedicated to our community and to helping every customer find the foods that make them feel best. As part of our commitment to the local area, our 100% vegetarian menu is changed on a weekly and seasonal basis to make the most of the area's locally-grown produce. Sustainable business practices are an essential component of our philosophy, and in addition to composting all food scraps, we are working towards being a zero waste business. In pursuit of that goal and in consideration of our planet, we encourage our customers to bring their own containers!
