The Washington College Department of Theatre and Dance presents True West by Sam Shepard; directed by Professor Dale Daigle.

True West follows the sibling rivalry between recently reconnected estranged brothers, Austin and Lee.

The High and Wides return to Chestertown with Baltimore bluegrass band Geraldine for a First Friday concert at the Garfield Center for the Arts. So come down to the GCA for a night of Bluegrass.

Seating starts at 7:30 and the show will get going at 8.

The class will be held over two weekends at the Clay Studio on Saturday March 2 & March 16 at 10:00am-2:00pm with a short break for lunch.

This is a class intended for experienced potters who need help learning to use company glazes. We will mainly be covering Amaco and Mayco glazes but other companies will be included. I recommend you bring a notebook, a small bisque piece, and brushes ( if you have them). The first weekend will be focused on technique introduction, the second weekend will be viewing results and refinement.

Our local artist, Claire Parker, will have a multi-media exhibit entitled "Taming Our Environment's Inequities". Claire Parker has produced a significant number of powerful artistic renderings that express her profound beliefs in our environment.

The Washington College Concert Series presents Marcus Flores and Dr. Davy DeArmond who will give a recital of modern trumpet works, including solo and duet works by Kevin McKee, Erik Morales, David Sampson, and more.

Individual tickets are $20 (adults) and $15 (non-WC College Students / Seniors 65 and over / WC Faculty and Staff). Youth 18 and under are free.

The class will be held at the Clay Studio on Thursdays at 2:00 - 4:30 pm, running from March 7-April 11 (6 weeks).

For beginning and continuing students. Coils, slabs, and pinch pots. Experience the basic ways people have formed clay throughout the millennia. Learn the techniques and get creative!

Learn the art of wine and food pairing with a guided tapas and wine tasting. Winemaker, Michael Zollo, will lead a discussion around the wines selected for the event. Chef Robbie Jester will prepare tapas and will offer a cooking demonstration that promises to be a highlight of the evening.

CHARLEY’S AUNT OPENS CHURCH HILL THEATRE 2024 SEASON

Charley’s Aunt, by Brandon Thomas, one of the world’s all-time funniest and most successful plays. Directed by Charles Michael Moore, Charley’s Aunt will run from March 8 to 24th.

Charley, Jack, and Babbs are well-born Oxford University students struggling to conduct a robust social life on limited allowances. In love with way-too-well-chaperoned Amy and Kitty, Jack and Charley concoct a romantic luncheon to be supervised by Charley’s aunt visiting from Brazil. But nothing goes as planned.

Creating art together in the name of peace can be powerful, rewarding, and at the same time lots of fun. All veterans of Kent County, Maryland are invited to participate in a free,
special art event on March 9, 1:30 - 4 p.m., at Sumner Hall, Chestertown. Participants will create a personalized interpretation of
peace, using a variety of materials to contribute to a group paper quilt and then to broaden this relationship with a worldwide one as their art will be exchanged with another group making art, matched through the Global Art Project for Peace.

Claire Parker, the artist, will be honored at a reception on March 10th from 1pm to 4pm. Refreshments will be served and Ms. Parker will speak about her creative process. Taming our Environment's Inequities will be available for viewing and purchase until April 28, 2024.

You know your art and the achievements you’re most proud of, but how do you describe yourself as an artist? From your website portfolio to applications for grants & residencies, the ability to write a strong artist bio is an essential part of your professional toolkit. It can often feel like a daunting task to sum up who you are and what you do in this concise way; but in this workshop, we’ll learn how to simplify that process.

The Beo String Quartet will present a delightful and varied program:
