Nest Alchemy investigates birds' nest throughout the four seasons and revels in the architectural wonders of the avian species.
Nest Alchemy is a thought-provoking series created by Deirdre Murphy, a contemporary visual artist, who explores the intersection of art and science through the lens of natural patterns, data visualization and climate change. Her interest in avian migratory patterns and the effects of climate change have led her research to a variety of residencies, most recently with Washington College’s Center for the Environment & Society’s Foreman Branch Bird Observatory.

Once upon a time the Mainstay planned a concert aboard The Packet Boat. But 100° temps cancelled the cruise. Our guests followed us back to the Mainstay. After the show someone exclaimed, “My God, this singer is the reincarnation of Al Jarreau.”
Ronnie has played with legendary performers, including Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Smoky Robinson, David Sanborn, Spiro Gyra, and Jon Hendricks. As one music critic noted “it's not even remotely hype to mention him in the same sentence with Lou Rawls and Donny Hathaway."
