KENT COUNTY, MARYLAND

The Honorable Board of License Commissioners met today with the following present: Larry B. Beck, W. Michael Newnam, and Ronald H. Fithian, presiding.

SPECIAL LICENSE

The Commissioners approved a one day only Special Class C Beer license for the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary to hold a fund raising event on April 20 at Wilmer Park, Chestertown and a Class C Beer, Wine and Liquor License for the Community Action Team for a fund raising event to be held at the Chestertown Armory on April 20.

OLD OARS INN

An application was received from Jane McInerney, President, and James E. Cecil, Sr., Vice President, representing Upstairs, Inc., for a Class B Beer, Wine, and Liquor (Caterer's Privilege), (Sunday Sale Privilege) License. A public hearing has been scheduled for May 7 at 10:00 a.m.

PASTA PLUS

The Commissioners agreed to waive the administrative hearing scheduled for April 30 and to give verbal warning. A letter will go forth to all the licensees advising that effective June 1, 2002 licensees found not to have a person trained in alcohol awareness on premises or properly logged out during the time in which alcoholic beverages are being served, will be fined. Those found in violation will be assessed up to a $100 fine for the first offense. All licensees will have the option of paying the fine or appearing for an administrative hearing.

RENEWAL APPLICATIONS

Mauritz Stetson, Alcoholic Beverage Inspector, appeared and reviewed forty-five renewal applications.

At the recommendation of Mr. Stetson, a motion was made by Commissioner Newnam, seconded by Commissioner Beck and made unanimous by Commissioner Fithian to approve the renewal applications, as presented. The Commissioners also approved to upgrade the Class B Beer, Wine and Liquor license for Kennedyville Inn to include a Sunday Sales Privilege license.

There being no further business to claim their attention, the Board adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, April 23, 2002.
