Kent County Board of License Commissioners 6/4/2002

KENT COUNTY, MARYLAND

Board of License Commissioners

June 4, 2002

The Honorable Board of License Commissioners met today with the following present: Larry B. Beck, W. Michael Newnam, and Ronald H. Fithian, presiding.

SPECIAL LICENSE

The Commissioners approved a one day only Special Class C Beer and Wine License for the Prince Theatre Foundation for a fund raising event to be held at the Prince Theatre, Chestertown on June 8.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE VIOLATIONS

Mr. Stetson reported that the Maryland State Police (MSP) conducted an undercover operation in Kent County to detect the sale of alcohol to underage persons. The first operation, on May 22, three establishments, Galena Mini Mart, Millington Pizza and Country Liquors, sold alcoholic beverages to a nineteen year old Maryland State Police Cadet. The second operation on May 23, one establishment, C-Town Liquors, sold alcoholic beverages to the same cadet. The report submitted by the MSP contains information that there is probable cause to believe a violation of the laws regarding sale to an underage person did occur.

A hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 18, at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room, County Government Center.

There being no further business to claim their attention, the Board adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, June 11, 2002.
