Board of License Commissioners

October 1, 2002

The Honorable Board of License Commissioners met today with the following present: Larry B. Beck, W. Michael Newnam, and Ronald H. Fithian, presiding.

SPECIAL LICENSE

The Commissioners approved the following one day only special Class C Licenses:

A Beer and Wine License for Harris Murphy's State's Attorney Campaign Committee to hold a campaign fund raising event at the Chestertown Fire Hall on October 4.

A Beer License for Betterton Volunteer Fire Company to hold a fund raising event at the Betterton Fire Hall on October 12.

A Beer, Wine and Liquor License for the Mainstay, Inc., to hold a community event in Rock Hall on October 21.

In follow-up from September 10 when approval was given for a Special Class C Beer and Wine License for Mainstay, Inc., for October 6, a request was made by Richard Evans, Secretary, Mainstay, Inc., to change the date for the license from October 6 to October 26. The Commissioners approved the change of date.

THE TAILGATE MARKET

An application was received from Glenn Martin Davis, Sr., representing the Tailgate Market for a Class A Beer and Wine License. A public hearing will be scheduled in the near future.

LEGISLATION

For the Commissioners review, Marty Stetson, Alcoholic Beverage Inspector, provided wording for proposed legislation to be introduced in the 2003 General Assembly as it relates to Wine Tasting in Kent County. The Commissioners approved to submit the proposed legislation to the local delegation.

There being no further business to claim their attention, the Board adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, October 8, 2002.
