RECYCLING AND WASTE DISPOSAL

• Kent County operates three recycling and solid waste drop-off centers, Sharptown, Duck Puddle and Nicholson. To utilize a county facility you must be a Kent County Resident/property owner and present a coupon book to enter and dispose of your materials.

• Customers delivering 1— 3 bags of trash (Kitchen size bags up to 13 gal.) the Attendant will not remove a coupon but will punch a hole in one (1) coupon. When the customer returns (next trip to facility) the Attendant will remove the coupon with the previously punched hole. This process will also include 1—3 bags of Yard Waste.

• A Disposal Coupon (1 coupon) is good for one vehicle load of materials. Additional coupons may be required for disposal of certain materials, (see tires & yard waste section below). • Two (2) Coupons are required for vehicles larger than a pick-up truck. • Three (3) coupons are required for vehicles larger than a pick-up w/ loaded trailer.
  Residential Disposal Coupon Books are available for $45.00 - Book of 15 coupons with no expiration date.

• Yellow & Red Coupon Books (old coupons) will still be accepted at a rate of 3 coupons per 1—3 trash bags (Kitchen size bags up to 13 gal.) and 6 coupons per vehicle load.

• A Coupon is not required if you only drop off Recyclables.

• The Duck Puddle and Sharptown Drop-off Centers only accepts household trash and recyclables.

• The Nicholson Drop-off Center accepts household trash, recyclables and bulk items
  No commercial or contractor waste permitted except for recyclables and yard waste.

Closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
