Kent County Government - Planning, Housing, and Zoning

Kennedyville - Master Village Plan

The Kent County Department of Planning and Zoning invites you to participate in development of the Kennedyville Village Master Plan.

The Kennedyville Village Master Plan is being developed to guide future growth and development in Kennedyville, and to address land use, housing, open space, transportation, and community facilities needs.   Public participation has been an integral part of the planning process for the project.  Two public workshops were held to identify and discuss community values and alternative futures.   A third public workshop was held on November 30, 2006 to review the final draft of the Kennedyville Village Master Plan.

The draft Plan is now being reviewed by various State agencies as prescribed in Article 66B of the Annotated Code of Maryland. Following State review, the Planning Commission will hold a hearing and forward a recommendation to the County Commissioners, who will make the final decision on adopting the Plan as an amendment to the County's Comprehensive Plan.

The County Commissioners held a public hearing on November 13, 2007 and will accept written comments on the Master Plan until 4:30 pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2007.

If you have questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact Carla Martin at 410-778-7475, or by email at camartin@kentgov.org.

The plan is in our office to review or purchase and can be downloaded as a .pdf document using the links below.
