RFP: GMB Project # 24004
Worton WWTP Dewatering Equipment Replacement in Kent County, MD

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Kent County Department of Public Works located at 709 Morgnec Rd, Chestertown, MD 21620, until Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

Work consists of installing a new sludge dewatering system at the existing Worton WWTP. Kent County has pre-purchased the new dewatering system which includes a volute dewatering system, flocculation tanks, polymer system, screw conveyors, flow meter, and associated piping specific to the system. Work also includes furnishing and installing associated mechanical piping, valves, electrical modifications, concrete work, and demolition work associated with the removal and disposal of the existing dewatering system and associated support structure. 

A pre-bid conference will be held at 1:00 PM (Local Time) on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Owner’s office (709 Morgnec Rd, Chestertown, MD 21620) with a project site visit to follow (25300 Chinquapin Rd, Worton, MD 21678) to allow Contractors an opportunity to obtain information on the project from the Consulting Engineer and the Owner. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is not mandatory.

Contractors having questions concerning the bid should submit them in writing via email to the Issuing Office at jmoore@gmbnet.com no later than 2:00 PM, on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Questions shall include the project name (WORTON WWTP – DEWATERING EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT) in the subject heading.
