Rousing folk tunes of Appalachia will meet tender Gaelic melodies at the first Resonance concert of the New Year.
IONA members play several acoustic instruments, sometimes switching within one selection to achieve a unique interpretation. The toe-tapping show will be sung in six languages, four of them types of Gaelic, plus an instrumental fiddle piece. The pan-Celtic repertoire includes songs from Brittany, Cornwall, Isle of Man and Cajun Louisiana.

Mainstay Monday with Joe Holt and Gerry Werner
Our featured guest tonight is Gerry Werner. Gerry has decades of professional experience playing across genres (Jazz,Top 40, blues, gospel, et cetera) throughout the east coast. His experiences includes playing or recording with jazz greats Al Grey and Nathan Davis, legendary session guitarist Vinnie Bell, European recording artist Lina Lee Hopkins and vocalist Patrice Hawthorn of Peaches and Herb. Gerry now lives in Betterton and joins Joe on piano and vocals for a diverse and fun two piano evening.

These eclectic evenings happen every Monday night and are hosted by our own Joe Holt at the piano, partnering with a special guest. Doors open at 6:30 pm with the show starting at 7:00 p.m.
Our featured guest tonight is Yvette Hynson. Born and raised in Queen Annes County, Yvette loves to sing Gospel, Pop, Jazz and R&,B. She is the host of The Sunday Jazz Experience radio program and The Live Jazz Experience Podcast, both on WKHS. Tonight Yvette joins Joe to sing her favorites, across the genres. Tickets $10 online in advance, $12 at the door.

The Hedgelawn Classical Series presents pianist Teodora Adzharova and violinist Orest Smovzh in an exciting duo program of classical favorites. As an active soloist and a sought-after chamber musician, pianist Teodora Adzharova is currently a doctoral candidate at Peabody studying with renowned pedagogue Ellen Mack.
Ukrainian-born violinist Orest Smovzh is currently based in the United States. In his repertoire, Orest aims to expand as far as Renaissance, arranging for modern violin, but also working on the historical instruments.

Lê, Kalen Na’il Roach, and Aaron Wax reimagine family narratives, illuminating and re-envisioning lives and identities.
