The Honorable Board of License
Commissioners met today with the following present: Roy W. Crow and William
W. Pickrum presiding. Commissioner Livie was not in attendance due to
a previous commitment for a family vacation.
Mauritz Stetson, Alcoholic Beverage Inspector, was also in attendance.
Mr. Stetson advised that he attended a Seminar of the MD Alcohol Licensing
Association on October 10, 11, and 12, 2003. The items of discussion included:
that Maryland's new driver's license included new safeguards built into
the license which will help to prevent misrepresentation, and that New
Jersey is planning to change its driver's license which is currently easily
reproducible.
SPECIAL LICENSE
The Commissioners approved the following Special Licenses:
A Class C Beer License for the Chestertown Optimist Club for a fund raising
event to take place at their booth at the Chestertown Wildlife Exhibition
to be held in downtown Chestertown on October 18, 2003.
A Class C Beer and Wine License for the Wine and Cheese Festival sponsored
by the Kent County Chamber of Commerce to be held at Emmanuel Parish Church
Hall, Chestertown, on October 25, 2003.
A Class C Beer License for the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company for a
fund raiser (motorcycle rally) to be held at Bayside Park on October 19,
2003.
VIOLATION
THE BLUE BIRD TAVERN
The Alcoholic Beverage Inspector notified the Commissioners that a violation
of the Criminal Law Article 2B, Section 6-401 (P) of the Annotated Code
of Maryland occurred as to two minors misrepresenting age to gain entrance
to a Class D establishment. The case is suspended, pending the acquisition
of additional information, and resulted in the issuing of citations to
the two minors (refer to citation #6233505478 and # 0233505479).
There being no further business to claim their attention, the Board adjourned
to meet again on Tuesday, October 21, 2003.
